Each year the competition rewards those residents who help to improve the appearance of their neighbourhoods by creating beautiful gardens.
We were extremely impressed by the standard of entries. We had a record total of 32 (double the amount from last year) and after some difficult judging, all the winners were picked and are detailed below.
Every household that entered received a visit by the judging panel, which was made up of a Tenant Board Director, Chair of the Residents’ Federation and a representative from Amber Valley Housing.
All the winners were presented with vouchers by our Executive Director, Paul Parkinson, at a special event held at Asher Lane in August.
Chair of the Federation, Val Swinson, who was part of the judging panel, said: ‘We were so impressed with the standard of entries. All the residents proved that spending time in the garden can make a real impact on the appearance of local areas and in turn help to instil a sense of pride in communities.
“We look forward to receiving even more entries next year”
