As you may have heard through the media today, Connaught Plc, the contractor we use to refurbish our homes, may be faced with being put ‘into administration’.

Administration usually means that that running of a company, or management of particular assets of a business, is handed over to an independent body who will deal with matters on behalf of those it owes money to. An announcement is expected later today (Tuesday 7th September) as to whether Connaught Plc has gone into administration.

It is important to note that, as yet, there has been no announcement and that the situation with Connaught will not affect our work to improve homes. However, there may be some delay depending on the administrator’s requirements. We are ready to mobilise our teams to deal with our immediate priorities - homes where work is ongoing and those where tenants are waiting for works to commence.

Every measure is being taken by Amber Valley Housing to ensure that the situation with Connaught will not affect our work to improve your homes.

If Connaught does go into administration we will be visiting those tenants’ homes where work is underway. These tenants are our first priority and our contingency plan includes working with other contractors that will be able to move in to complete works so that homes are not left unfinished.
